Hannah Dobek is a self-taught artist, writer, and curator currently based in Central Pennsylvania. She works in a range of mediums, with emphasis on collage, painting, found objects + textile art.

Her work is inspired by the stories in her immediate environment, the complexities of human relationships, mystical subjects and Jungian symbolism. She works in several different styles, ranging from surrealist collage, to intuitive painting and dark abstract expressionism. A sense of isolation, nostalgia and restlessness permeates her work.

With a unique background as a homeschooler raised by two jazz musicians, Hannah was immersed in both jazz music and Bible culture for the first part of her life. Growing up, Art and historical obsessions were a way for her to deal with an emotionally chaotic environment. Eventually leaving Christian Fundamentalism behind, she developed a broader sense of Spirituality and began a public arts career in 2011 as a Living Statue, after a trip to New Orleans.

Using intuitive collage, drawing, thrift store found objects and painting in her costume designs, the Living Statue process eventually dissolved, but found its way into her other visual art forms.

In 2013, she became the Resident Artist, Gallery Director and Live Music host at Metropolis Collective, an eclectic art gallery and music venue in Central PA. She has curated over 40 shows with various Artists and musicians, and Metropolis has won several awards for its high energy group exhibits and wide-ranging appeal.

After more than a decade curating shows and live music, she left the position in 2025 to focus on her own work, moving her legendary art studio into a smaller private working space.

Her work has been featured in live performances, gallery shows, album art, streaming platforms, online journals, and photography stories. Her upcoming plans include DIY film + sound projects, gallery exhibitions, writing projects and Independent curations.
